'Supernatural' Season 12 Release Date, Spoilers: Upcoming Season May Not Be The Last Series?

As the new season of "Supernatural" is rumored to mark the end of the long-running series, fans can expect it to get more "human" and emotional than ever.

While some believe that the events in the final installment will be explosive, some believe that it will only fail to live up to fans' expectations. The Chuck and Amara tandem, which happened in season 11, was so big a storyline that fans believe that there is no bigger story out there left for showrunners Jared Padelecki and Jensen Ackles to tell in season 12.

Showrunners Padelecki and Ackles insist that the upcoming season is going to be different from the previous seasons as it explores each of the characters and their individual paths. According to recent reports, the new season will begin exploring Mary Winchester's storyline, who will make her way into the lives of Jared and Jensen.

There are also speculations that the reason the showrunners remain silent about the details of season 12 is because the series will no longer be renewed.

Amidst fans' apprehensions, CW head Mark Pedowitz confirmed in his interview with Den of Geek that season 12 will still see the light of the day.

"If they can keep delivering stories, and the numbers keep holding, and the guys want to do it, we're going to keep trying."

Pedowitz even promised that if Jared and Jensen choose to continue, then there is a possibility that season 12 will not be the final installment of the series.

The series is presumed to premiere on October 13, 2016 on The CW.
