Surface Pro 5 Release Date Rumors, Specs, News: Launch Date Imminent With Changes On Amazon Listing?

The release date for Microsoft's Surface Pro 5 has been reported to be on Oct. 26, but recent news claims that there could be basis for that schedule considering what Amazon did to its listing of the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book.

According to this report, the Amazon website just changed the listing for Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book to "old version." People took this to mean that the Surface Pro 5 will be unveiled soon. That's the same strategy seen with Apple, which cuts the price of current products when it's about to launch new ones.

There's not a lot to go on in terms of specs for Microsoft's new product. The rumors claim that it's going to be run on a Kaby Lake processor, although the short window between now and the supposed Oct. 26 release date may mean that the Surface Pro 5 will still use the sixth-gen Skylake chip.

If it's indeed going to use the Kaby Lake, as well as include the upcoming "Redmond 2" build of Windows 10, we may instead be looking at a March 2017 launch. Other specs include the standard 2K resolution as well as the higher-end model, said to be capable of 4K native resolution. It will come equipped with NVIDIA graphics and 16 GB of RAM, along with 256 GB storage space.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will feature USB Type-C port as well as an overhauled design of the keyboard.

Watch out for more news on the Microsoft Surface Pro 5, particularly on the release date, which will be published here when they come along.
