Surface Pro 5 Specs, News & Rumors: Microsoft Postpones Release Date of Surface Pro 5 to Next Year
Microsoft has kept mum about the details of Surface Pro 5, but recent reports suggest that the new Surface Pro model is set for release soon. Some rumors also claim that the next hybrid device will be launched alongside another device from the Redmond-based tech firm, and will feature impressive specs that might threaten the biggest players in the industry.
IB Times previously reported that Microsoft will launch the refreshed Surface Pro 5 this October. The product will reportedly share the spotlight with the company's new all-in-one PC. However, the October launch seems unlikely since it is already October and Microsoft has not yet dropped any official announcement about the launch. There are speculations that if the launch will not happen this month, then the public should expect the hybrid laptop to be out next year.
According to iDigital Times, one of the possible reasons for the delay of the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release is that the tech firm is still waiting for the operating system update, Windows 10 Redstone 2, to become available. Since the update will be made available in early 2017, it is possible that Microsoft has decided to push back the release of Surface Pro 5 to early 2017 as well.
Surface Pro 5 is also said to carry an Intel Kaby Lake processor. However, reports suggest that manufacturing companies have just started procuring the chips and that the full distribution of the chipsets will not happen until next year.
Meanwhile, the hybrid laptop is assumed to have a USB-type C Connection to facilitate faster data transfer and charging. It will also have a 16 GB RAM, a 16-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel selfie snapper.
