Switchfoot's 'Fading West' Debuts at No. 6 on Billboard 200, No. 1 on Christian Charts

The Grammy-award winning rock band Switchfoot entered the Billboard 200 chart this week at No. 6 and came in at No. 2 on the Rock Album charts and hit No. 1 on the overall Christian/Gospel charts with the bands Latest record, Fading West.

This is the band's third top 10 album on the charts. Their previous releases, 2011's Vice Verses, peaked at No. 8 and The Beautiful Letdown debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200 prior to that.

Fading West already has two hit singles, "Who We Are" and "Love Alone Is Worth The Fight." The chart-toppers also recently released a feature film of the same name, Fading West. The film is currently available across all leading Video On Demand platforms in the U.S. including iTunes, Amazon, Instant Video, Cable Movies on Demand, and more.

The part music, part surf film, and part journey across the world documentary, Fading West offers rare glimpses of the dedicated surfers on their boards and in the waves, while showing the energy of their massive live shows, and still intimate all in one.

Switchfoot has been together for 17 years and have sold 5.5 million copies worldwide in total from their eight studio albums. Some of the band's most popular songs include, "Meant to Live," "Dare You To Move," "Mess of Me," and "Afterlife," to name a few. In 2003, they gained double-platinum breakthrough status with The Beautiful Letdown and in 2009 won a Grammy Award for Hello Hurricane.

The band has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to aid homeless kids in their community through their own Bro-Am Foundation. Their fans consist of people from all over the world that enjoy uplifting alternative rock music.

The band will launch a full U.S. tour in support of the new album beginning in February.
