Tasha Cobbs Leonard originally performed the anthem as part of CNN's Independence Day Special, Fourth In America. News commentator Don Lemon immediately described it as an "amazing, gripping performance" on air.

In June, Leonard released "Gotta Believe," her first new single of 2021. The track serves as an anthem about searching for strength in times of hesitance and uncertainty. Revealed in an exclusive interview with NPR Morning Edition, "Gotta Believe" is a truly personal song for Leonard, written during a period in which she and her husband were confronted with several momentous life decisions.

In July, Leonard brought home four wins at the 2021 Stellar Awards: Song Of The Year, Female Vocalist Of The Year, Contemporary Female Of The Year and Praise & Worship Album Of The Year.
