Taylor Swift 1989 Album Details: 13 Pop Music Tracks, No Ex-Boyfriend Based Single
Taylor Swift is going to release her upcoming album entitled 1989 on October 27 through Big Machine Records.
The 24-year-old pop singer and songwriter recently released her latest single "Shake It Off" alongside its video clip. The song made a major impact on the charts, and now, fans are looking forward to the rest of the album.
According to Rolling Stone, her latest album was influenced by her favorite '80s pop singers, which are Phil Collins, Annie Lennox and Madonna (her "Material Girls" and "Like a Virgin" era). Her previous album, Red, falls in between the country and pop genre.
This time around, she just wanted to focus on pop music only. She said, "...At a certain point, if you chase two rabbits, you lose them both." The fans might not hear much of a difference in the music she makes, but for her and her label, this is a major change.
Along with that, 1989 is different from the rest of her albums because for the first time, there is no single involving talk about her particular exes.
Yes, there are songs about her love life, but they do not focus on someone specifically.
She said in her interview with Rolling Stone, "different phases of your life have different levels of deep, traumatizing heartbreak...and this period of my life, my heart was not irreparably broken. So it's not as boycentric on an album because my life hasn't been boycentric."
1989 will consist of 13 tracks, and is full of "blatant pop music" according to Rolling Stone.
