Taylor Swift Cast in 'The Giver' Movie Adaptation / Cast Includes "Red" Songstress, Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep, Katie Holmes and More!

Recently Taylor Swift was on record saying she was interested in doing more acting. She admitted, however, the role would have to be pretty great to take her away from songwriting and touring.

The "Red" songstress is finally getting her big on-screen break. Swift confirmed in an interview with Teen Vogue that she'll don the role of Rosemary in an upcoming adaptation of The Giver.

Harvey Weinstein couldn't be happier about the cast for The Giver.

"'The Giver' has always been a favorite book of mine and my kids," he said. "We could not have assembled a more impressive cast for this project behind Lois Lowry's beautiful novel and the directorial talents of Phil Noyce, and are tremendously excited to commence production."

Joining Swift on set, Jeff Bridges will play the title character while Meryl Streep will play the chief elder. Other cast members include Katie Holmes, Brenton Thwaites and Alexander Skarsgard.

Director the film version of the popular 1993 novel will be helmed by Phil Noyce.

This isn't the first time Taylor Swift has tried her hand at acting. She made a brief appearance on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, The New Girl and the 2010 movie Valentine's Day.
