Taylor Swift Education Center Set to Open Saturday, October 12 in Nashville, TN / Swift Awarded "Songwriter/Artist of the Year

Nashville, Tennessee will be opening the Taylor Swift Education Center in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum this weekend. Last year Swift donated $4 million to the museum towards the construction of the education center. Swift will be awarded her sixth "Songwriter/Artist of the Year" award from the Nashville Songwriters Association International.

Swift is ecstatic about the opening of her educational center.

"In school, I was taught a certain amount about music, a certain amount about theater, and that interest sparked something in me. It made me look elsewhere to learn much more about it. I think, for me, it's just going to be so interesting to see Nashville continue to be this hub for music, and this hub for music education. I love the fact that people are coming from all over the world to go to school for music. I love the fact that this is now a new opportunity for kids to be a part of programs that are going to help them know more about what we do here," she explained.

Swift's $4 million dollar donation is the largest single donation made by any artist in the museum's 46 years. The education center is scheduled to be opened Saturday, October 12. Stay tuned for more news and updates.
