T.D. Jakes Lawsuit: Pastor Files Suit Against Former Church Member Claimed His Stalker Can 'Ultimately Lead' to 'Death' (PHOTO)
Popular televangelist Bishop T.D. Jakes files lawsuit against former congregation member for allegedly stalking him.
Pastor Jakes' Former congregation member Karleisha Tarver has reportedly stalked him since 2011. Tarver is on the receiving end of a new lawsuit filed by the religious leader and a judge also has extended a restraining order against her last Friday stating that Tarver's actions "may ultimately lead to the death of one of the plaintiffs, their family, their friends, church attendees and/or staff," according to the Star-Telegram.
The restraining order is a short-term one until a court hearing that is scheduled to take place next week. The hearing will determine whether the mega church Leader's supposed stalker should be court-ordered to stay away from him permanently.
The woman has allegedly tried to break into Jakes' Fort Worth home several times last month. During one of the attempted break-ins, one of Jakes' security officers tried to stop the obsessed women from entering the premises. Travers allegedly then tried to run over the security guard with her car. Tarver again tried to break into Jakes' home on two other occasions. On one occasion she was "screaming obscenities," per court documents.
The 31-year-old woman was expelled from the 30,000-strong Dallas base church The Potter's House in 2011. Later that year, Tarver reportedly disturbed a bible study meeting at the church by yelling at the top of her lungs for no reason. Police were summoned to the disturbance and gave her a criminal trespass citation at the time.
Travers was placed behind bars on January 26 after her alleged trespassing attempt last month and she is currently being held at a Dallas County jail with a bail of $1,000.
Court documents also state that Tarver was reportedly committed to a mental health facility in 2012. She was also convicted of criminal trespass in the same year and sentenced to 15 days in jail.
