Teresa and Joe Giudice News: Giudices Facing Two Years Prison Time
Teresa Giudice, star of 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' and her husband are attempting to sell their New Jersey mansion for $3.99 million. Clearly, they are trying to save up some money before their sentencing. The pair is facing charges for their alleged involvement in a large money-laundering scheme.
The couple bought the house in 2002 for $530 thousand. For a few years, they renovated the house before finally settling into it in 2008, right after the show's premiere. The house was about 5000 sq. ft. when they first bought it, and after the renovation, the house has increased in size two fold. In 2012, the house value jumped to about $1.2 million.
Now, the couple is trying to sell the mansion for roughly four times that value.
According to TMZ, Teresa will face 21 to 27 months in prison while Joe will be sentenced from 37 to 46 months after both of them pleaded to guilty to fraud and conspiracy in their bankruptcy case.
Daily Mail says that the sentencing will be postponed from September 23 to October 2. Henry E. Klingeman, Teresa's defense attorney said, "Typically, sentencing get postponed so that everybody involved can be fully prepared...the court is waiting on information from all sides-the defense, the government and probation, so it's been postponed by a couple of weeks."
