'The Bible" on History Channel: Best Show on TV

In these trying times of 2013, Mark Burnett and Roma Downey's new miniseries The Bible on History Channel is literally a Godsend. The Bible premiered on History Channel, Sunday March 3rd.

The first episode "In The Beginning" was explosive with ratings to match. The first episode garnered over 13 million viewers.

Episode 2, "Homeland" took a bit of a dip in ratings, but still posted millions. Married producers, Burnett and Downey are expecting a spike with episode 3, "Hope/Survival" because Jesus makes his first appearance.

In response to success from The Bible series, the power duo responsible for hits like Survivor and Touched By An Angel, also just released a companion book for viewers to follow along with.

Burnett and Downey's 3-book series, "A Story of God and All of Us" includes devotional reflections, prayers and gorgeous photos from The Bible television series. The book will also include a novelization of the show, along with an instructional book geared towards getting children and young adults excited about the stories of the Bible.

The "Reflections" edition includes 100 passages, each reflecting on a Bible verse with devotions and short prayers. The "100 Daily Devotionals" are a great way to better understand the Bible and follow along with The Bible miniseries. Each passage was written or co-written by Burnett and Downey.

"A Story of God and All of Us" is available on Amazon.com and most bookstores.

The Bible series airs each Sunday at 8 p.m. on History Channel. The series' finale is Easter Sunday.
