The premiere episode of "Big Bang Theory" season 10 saw the second wedding of Leonard and Penny, a family reunion and the continuation of romantic storylines.

In the season 9 finale, Leonard and Sheldon saw Leonard's dad, Alfred, and Sheldon's mom, Mary, share some sweet moments together. While the two did not end up doing "the deed," seeing Mary, a Christian, having physical contact with a man she had just met disturbed both Leonard and Sheldon.

The first episode of season 10 kicked off with the wedding of Leonard and Penny, where Penny's mom Susan and brother Randall's presence was seen for the first time. However, it was not Penny's dysfunctional family that highlighted the event, but Leonard's. Unfortunately for him and Sheldon, their parents had plans to see each other again. The news was just too much for Leonard's mom, Beverly, that she decided to make it known during the wedding.

According to executive producer Steve Malaro, episode 2 of season 10 will see a development in Penny's character.

"When you're a young adult and you still have quite a few bills to pay off from being an even younger adult. It puts you in a place where you might have to be mature for a while and suck it up and do a job you might not love to knock some bills out," he said.

The new episode will also follow Sheldon and the gang as they get involved in a "top secret" project.
