"The Blacklist" season 4 returns in January, 2017, and everyone expects it to return with a bang.

Before the series went on hiatus, the majority of the cliffhangers were already answered. These include Liz Keen's issue with Red, as well as the uncertainties revolving around Alexander Kirk. With less than two months remaining before the series returns, fans of the series wonder what "Blacklist" showrunner Jon Bokenkamp has in store to make sure that the series returns with a bang.

Spoilers for episode 9 suggest that Red is going to deal with a major betrayal. In the trailer preview for the episode, someone from his team is shown hiding as an infiltrator and is seeking to destroy everyone in the team. The most exciting part of this episode is how Red will discover this betrayal.

Since the betrayal puts the national security in grave danger, fans can expect Red to be at his worst upon the discovery of this major treachery. It can be recalled that in the previous episodes, he never had a second thought killing Ms. Kaplan when he had learned of her involvement in faking Liz's death.

As of this writing, it remains to be known who the mole in the team is and how Red will find out about the treachery.

Meanwhile, Bokenkamp recently teased that a new compelling story will start to grow following Red's revelation to Kirk that Liz is his daughter by genes.
