'The Crow' Remake News: Movie Starts Shooting In January

Following years of being in development, "The Crow" is finally set to start shooting in January.

A remake of the film has been in the works for many years, but various legal complications and stumbling blocks in production have slowed down its progress. Last August, however, Jason Momoa posted on Instagram a photo of him and film director Corin Hardy, whose name has been linked to the film for quite some time. He captioned the photo "#sealthedeal."

The post has since then sparked speculations that "The Crow" is making progress and it won't be long before viewers finally catch it on the big screen. As it turns out, while Hardy was previously reported to have dropped the project early this year, he has returned to take on its story once and for all.

According to reports, the film is finally happening with "Game of Thrones'" Khal Drogo and Jason Momoa as the titular character. Music director Corin Hardy is set to direct the film. It has also been confirmed that Momoa will be on set as soon as the production of Zack Snyder's "Justice League" wraps up.

Momoa is set to portray Aquaman in a standalone film directed by James Wan, which will be released in 2018. Relativity, the studio behind "The Crow," has not officially confirmed yet the release date of the film.

The first "The Crow" film hit theaters in 1994, which was adapted from a comic book by James O'Barr. While it was a critical and financial hit, its sequel which was released in 1996, "The Crow: City of Angels," failed to match the first movie's success.
