'The Last Of Us 2' News Update: Sequel More About Hate Than Love
News about "The Last of Us 2" has been sparse, not just from the studio but also from the people behind it.
But a trailer dropped by Naughty Dog confirmed that there's going to be "The Last of Us 2," which is at least good news for fans waiting on resolution for the fate of Ellie and Joel.
There are some details on the sequel that we know so far. For instance, Ellie would be the main protagonist here. That means players would be controlling her more than Joel. Also, the mood here is very dark, which would not be surprising considering the experiences that our heroes have gone through. And that means they should be bitter and cynical about the world.
Even the trailer gives a glimpse of just how dark "The Last of Us 2" is. You can see Ellie sitting in an abandoned house strumming her guitar and unmindful of all the bodies that litter the room. We think she killed all those zombies, but to be unaffected by it all?
In a panel by Game Informer, as shared by DigitalTrends, director Neil Druckmann said they will continue to explore the bond between Joel and Ellie although the theme now has changed to hate from love in the first game.
"The Last of Us is about these two characters specifically," he said. "So yeah,Part II is saying this is gonna be a larger story, this is a complementary story to the first game, but the two together are going to tell this much larger tale."
Watch out for more news on "The Last of Us 2" as we await the announcement of the release date for the sequel.
