'The Last Of Us 2' Release Date, News: Nolan North Confirms He Won’t Be In Sequel

Nolan North, the voice behind Nathan Drake in "Unchartered," has confirmed the news about Naughty Dog doing "The Last of Us 2."

The news about "The Last of Us 2" was announced, even offhandedly, during the Q&A at the panel at MetroCon in Tampa, Florida, reported Gamespot

According to the article, there must have been a job somewhere for the sequel that was offered to Nolan North because he was privy to the project. He confirmed that "Unchartered 4: A Thief's End" is going to be his last project with Naughty Dog.

"For now I know they're doing Last of Us 2, but my character in Last of Us kind of met an untimely demise," he said.

However, Troy Baker admitted that it was the first time he's heard the news about Naughty Dog making "The Last of Us 2."

"Okay, so I'm... And by the way I know nothing. I don't know if we're gonna do another one or not," he said, adding that if the reports are true then he thinks creative director Neil Druckmann and game director Bruce Straley will be able to "tell a story that needs to be told."

As to the release date, it may not even be next year. The "Unchartered 4" is expected to be launched in the spring of 2017. So assuming if Naughty Dog is already working on the sequel parallel with "A Thief's End," "The Last of Us 2" won't come out until early 2018 at the very least.
