Rock band The Protest are announcing their debut album on RockFest Records, Legacy, which is hitting stores everywhere on July 13 and is produced by Matt Arcaini. The upcoming 10-track album features the anthemic lead single "What Else You Got" which is already impacting mainstream radio.

Co-written by The Protest and Disciple guitarist Josiah Prince, "What Else You Got" debuted at No. 39 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Indicator chart, and was a most added debut at No. 23 on Billboard's Christian Rock National Airplay chart, according to the publication's June 9 issue. The band says the song encapsulates on one of the album's central themes as a fight song from God's perspective, with the band explaining that he is always in our corner, standing in the way of the enemy.

Other highlights on Legacy includes "Noise Revolution," which is a rallying cry to rise up and impact others with the love of Jesus; "Bad Self," which is an acknowledgment of our daily struggle with sin; and "To The Death," which is an urgent message of hope fueled by The Protest's signature hard sound.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the album guitarist Adam Sadler says, "What kind of legacy do we want to leave behind-ours or God's? I want people to know we love Jesus and I hope our music will impact them for His glory."

He continues, "Our band's life verse is 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV): 'Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.'"

"We live in a broken world and people need Jesus," Sadler explains. "We want them to get to know him through us and through our music. That's what we pray and hope for every day."

Based in New Castle, Ind., The Protest is comprised of frontman and lead vocalist Josh Bramlett, Sadler on guitar, Jarob Bramlett on drums, and TJ Colwell on the guitar. Their 2012 debut album Game Changer was produced by Travis Wyrick, while their 2014 record, Great Lengths, showcased "Vicious Cycle," the band's first Top 50 mainstream rock hit.

Self-identifying as "Road Warriors" due to their heavy touring schedule, The Protest plays over 150 dates a year, and recently wrapped up the CityRockfest Tour headlined by fellow rock band Disciple. This summer The Protest is scheduled to appear at Kingdom Come Festival in Greentown, Ind., and Logan, Ohio's Move The Hills festival, among other events.
