'The Voice' Live Stream: Recap From Monday’s NBC Show, Preview for Tuesday, Start Time: Pharell, Gwen Prove Themselves

'The Voice' Season 7 premiered with new two coaches Pharell Williams and Gwen Stefani, who joined the veterans Blake Shelton and Adam Levine. Part 2 of 'The Voice' Season 7's Week 1 will air on Tuesday, Sept. 23 on NBC.

The highly-anticipated show kicked off with Blake performing "Hella Good" from the cover of "No Doubt", Gwen joined him, as Adam played guitar, and Pharell played the drums.

Apart from how the new coaches gel with the veterans, the focus, was definitely on the show's iconic "Blind Auditions" segment that featured a number of aspirants who compete with one another to make an impact on each of the coaches' team. According to Christian Post, the contestants who were being "turned to" on Monday are listed below:

  •  Luke Wade - He sung Otis Redding's "That's How Strong My Love Is," a four-chair turner, and chose to be under Pharrell Williams' coaching.
  •  Clara Hong - She sung Rickie Lee Jones' "Chuck E's In Love," and opted for Adam Levine as her coach.
  •  Damien - He sung Boyz II Men's "How Do I Say Goodbye to Yesterday," and opted for Adam Levine as his coach.
  •  Allison Bray - Sung Kacey Musgraves' "Merry Go 'Round," and decided to join Blake Shelton's team
  •  James David Carter - A contry singer, he sung Kenneth Edmonds/Keith Sharpe's "Nobody Knows," a four-chair turner, and chose Blake Shelton as his coach.
  •  Taylor John Williams - He sung Kanye West's "Heartless," and opted for Gwen Stefani's tutelage.
  •  Bryana Salaz - She sung Ariana Grande's "Problem," and decided to join Gwen Stefani's team.
  •  Elyjuh Rene - He sung Beyonce's "XO," and opted for Pharrell Williams as coach.

However, a few unfortunate singers couldn't make it to the next "Battle" rounds and they include Bianca Espinal (Jewel's "Foolish Games"), Megg (Hole's "Celebrity Skin"), and Dennis Bell (Brooks & Dunn's "She Used to be Mine").

Meanwhile, both Gwen and Pharell established themselves as great additions to the show, but Pharell proved that he has got the best lines of anyone out there. Pharell won the first contestant of the night, Luke Wade, a soul singer from Texas, by telling him, "I know a thing or two about blue-eyed soul. You can ask Justin. You can ask Robin."
