TiVo Interface News & Update: Predictive Watching Experience Promised

The new TiVo Interface promises to ease up the TV experience by predicting your favorite programs through your viewing habits, according to the latest news.

Margret Schmidt, chief design officer at TiVo, said in a statement that because of the sheer number of TV shows and channels today, it's become increasingly hard for families to follow their favorite TV shows or stumble upon new ones.

This was the significance of the news about the TiVo Interface that she said people should understand.

"The new UX brings the content the viewer wants right up front faster through expanded discovery and predictions from their own cable subscription and the best online video sources," she aid. "In short, we designed this UX so the viewer spends less time searching channel guides and opening apps and more time enjoying their favorite shows."

Apart from the predictive capability of the new interface, viewers also get faster access to content through options like "Recent Activity" and "What To Watch" which cuts the amount of time to skim through the programs.

The Verge said that the news about the TiVo Interface news came on the heels of the report that the firm has a new tech in the pipeline that can stream TV shows even in devices that are not connected to your television.

TiVo described the new device as "a network DVR that is designed to receive OTA broadcast video and transcodes and send it out as a network stream either wired or wireless," according to the FCC filing.
