'Top Of The Lake' Season 2 Premiere Date, Cast News: Next Season Shows Grey-Haired Nicole Kidman
It has been a while since the first season of "Top of the Lake" ended in 2013. Since the season 1 finale, fans of the series have not heard anything yet about the details of the sophomore season.
Recently, the first image for the new season was dropped, revealing Nicole Kidman. In the upcoming series, her character is described as an Australian mother named Julia, whose story will intersect with that of Robin.
With her long and flowing grey locks, Kidman's look in the image is reminiscent of Holly Hunter in the first season. It can be recalled that in season 1, Holly Hunter rocked a long, flowing head of silvery hair as she portrayed the mysterious spiritual guru named GJ. Based on the new image for season 2, it looks like Nicole Kidman's grey-maned character is the new woman that Elisabeth Moss will have to contend with.
In the upcoming season titled "China Girl," Moss's character, Detective Robin Griffith, will return to Sydney as she tries to rebuild her life after uncovering all the horrifying criminal activities in her hometown and discovering some upsetting details about her past. However, when the body of a young Asian girl gets washed up on Bondi Beach, Robin will be forced to work again to find her killer.
The series tells the story of Robin Griffith, who returned to her home in New Zealand only to discover disturbing facts about her own life and the criminal activities there.
"Top of the Lake" season 2 premieres sometime in 2017 on Sundance.
