'Torment: Tides of Numenera' Release Date News: Two Months To Go Before Launch

After a long wait, the "Torment: Tides of Numenera" release date was announced to be in February next year.

As fans know, the game is the follow-up to "Planescape: Torment," the critically acclaimed game published in 1999. It's a role-playing game where you assume the role of the Nameless One, who can resurrect after being killed but at the expense of one human life.

The problem is he forgets most about his past, or even sometimes has complete amnesia when he resurrects.

The "Torment: Tides of Numenera" release date has been delayed several times even after the successful crowdfunding in 2013 when the studio raised about $4.2 million from nearly 75,000 contributors, Polygon reported.

The game is set a billion year into the future, and you will have to discover what the Ninth World is all about.

"Before the Ninth World was born, many great civilizations had risen and fallen, leaving behind remnants of their advanced technology," the website said. "One man discovers a way to use these devices, known as the numenera, to jump between bodies and thus cheat death. Yet his method awakens a ancient and deadly force called The Sorrow, which tries to kill the death-cheater and all his former bodies: including you."

The original release date announced for "Torment: Tides of Numenera" was in December 2014, but the game suffered some delays.

The "Torment: Tides of Numenera" release date will simulataneously arrive on Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Those who will pre-order the Day One Edition will get the game box and disc, a CD of the original soundtrack, map of the Ninth World, the traveler's guide and the in-game armor.
