'Transformers: The Last Knight' News: Latest Trailer Video Features Freya The Dog

The pairing of a human and an animal is a common trope seen in movies, and it looks like the upcoming sequel of "Transformers," "The Last Knight," won't be any different.

Filming for the film has been in development for months, and reports suggest that shooting is taking place around the globe. The fifth installment of the "Transformers" series is expected to open up their whole cinematic universe, with lots of sequels and spin-offs being planned in the near future. However, there is more to this film than just that.

The most recent promotional video for the film features Freya the dog. The clip chronicles the casting of the popular dog for her role in "The Last Knight." Known as "The World's Loneliest Dog," Freya spent the first six years of her life in animal shelters until she made headlines recently and caught the attention of director Michael Bay. The director then cast the famous dog against renowned actor Anthony Hopkins in HBO's "Westworld."

The 78-year-old actor is set to star in "Westworld," which premieres next month. He then will reprise his role as Odin in "Thor: Ragnarok" for Marvel Studios.

In the behind-the-scenes "Transformers" video, Hopkins is shown taking a stroll through the British countryside with Freya. However, a closer look at the video reveals that Hopkins is actually being accompanied by a tank. Fans have yet to know if this tank is a robot in disguise, which is not impossible considering the nature of the film.

"Transformers: The Last Knight" hits U.S. theaters on June 23, 2017.
