Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails Hurls Expletive at Grammy Awards for Cutting Performance Short, 'Music's Biggest Night... to be Disrespected'
Nine Inch Nails singer Trent Raznor was none too happy at last night's Grammy Awards after he, along with Queens of the Stone Age, The Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl, and Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac's performance was cut short on television due to the Grammy's running out of time.
"Music's biggest night... to be disrespected. A heartfelt **** YOU guys," Reznor Tweeted after the show.
The band's began to play and about half way through the song the credits began to roll as they were virtually played off the stage.
"We save the end slot for something that is a bit of a jam, because you can have the energy go and then it's just a matter of the clock," said Neil Portnow, the Recording Academy president, according to Hollywood Reporter.
According to EOnline, Reznor has had negative things to say about the Grammy's before. Back in 2011 he said, "Why don't the Grammys matter? Because it feels rigged and cheap-like a popularity contest that the insiders club has decided."
Nine Inch Nails was nominated for Best Alternative Music Album with the release of Hesitation Marks. Queens of the Stone Age were nominated in the Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Album. The group's lost all three awards.
Dave Grohl one both of his nominations for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media and best Rock Song.
