Supernatural drama series 'The Vampire Diaries' returns with Episode 4 entitled "Black Hole Sun," which reveals an important event in Damon's past life that might help him escape "The Other Side." 

"Black Hole Sun" will show how Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) is forced to relive one of the worst days of his life in order for him and Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham) to find their way back home from being stuck in the past- May 10, 1994 over and over again.

The synopsis for the upcoming episode teased that Damon and Bonnie are still alive but simply stuck in the past.

The story steps into flashback with Bonnie and Damon meeting up with the Salvatore brothers during the '90s, a time when something very important happened to Damon.

Moreover, it revealed that Alaric Saltzman (Matt Davis) and Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) might help out Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) and Jeremy Gilbert (Steven R. McQueen).

Alaric helps out his brother Jeremy pick up the pieces and fix his life and try to prevent Gilbert from drowning himself in alcohol, women, and video games as he copes with the death of Bonnie.

Former lovebirds Stefan and Elena will also be spending time together, but Stefan will make sure to show Elena how to start a new normal life and renew his identity. Their meet-up will be short-lived as an unexpected visitor comes in.

Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig) will be faced with a troubling situation when Tripp (guest star Colin Ferguson) tells him a dark secret.

In Episode 2 of 'The Vampire Diaries', entitled "Yellow Ledbetter," Tripp admits to Matt that he indeed grew up in the perilous Mystic Falls and was even a member of one of the founding families.

Will his "secret life" of capturing supernatural beings and locking them in an anti-magic ridden Mystic Falls be finally revealed to Matt?

'The Vampire Diaries' Episode 4 "Black Hole Sun" airs on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 8 pm on The CW Network.
