New Artist Victoria Griffith Performs at Celebrate Recover
New artist Victoria Griffith recently lent her talents to the Celebrate Recovery event at The Mercy Place at First United Methodist Church in Scottsboro, Ala. The Christmas event was held to celebrate the Christmas season and raise funds for the non-profit organization, which focuses on helping anyone with a hurt, habit or hang-up that is an obstacle to discovering the abundant life God promised us.
"December involves celebrations, visitors and grateful hearts, so it should come as no surprise that we enjoyed those gifts of the season recently at Mercy Place," said Dr. Hardin Coleman, who heads up Celebrate Recovery. "The visitor was Victoria Griffith and her band and the celebration was the worship she led, lifting all our praise to Jesus who loves us, guides us, and resides in us. We all experienced gratitude as Victoria shared her story of how the word 'tumor' brought her life plan to a screeching halt but God miraculously used anticipated tragedy for His good purpose. Victoria's healing brings to life her ministry and she brought it to us. It was a concert, celebration, and testimony all brought together in one night."
"I was excited to share my testimony and music with the people of Celebrate Recovery and also hear their stories," Griffith says. "I'm always intrigued by the different lives that have been lived right here in my own area! I am honored to partner with a program, such as Celebrate Recovery, that shows the love of Christ to all people."
Navigating the circuitous life path from brain tumor diagnosis to new motherhood to debut recording artist, Griffith has emerged successfully on the other side with a riveting testimony and a CD filled with songs that exude hope and grace, and perfectly showcase the singer's stunning, country-inflected vocals. Her debut CD, Wellspring in the Wilderness, is slated for a March 2013 release.

About Victoria Griffith:
Griffith, who as a child was "discovered" by her cousin's voice teacher when she tagged along to a singing lesson, is known throughout her home state of Alabama for her striking voice. After college, she began teaching English, but kept hearing "a still, small voice" telling her not to give up on the musical talent God had given her. "It was more of a gentle but irresistible tug at my heart," Griffith explains. "It was an undeniable sense that this was something that I needed to do." Supported by the blessing and encouragement of her husband, Griffith embarked on the adventurous journey of faith that would culminate in the release of her stunning debut CD, Wellspring In the Wilderness.
