'The Voice' 2013 Season 4 Results Recap: Holly Tucker, Amber Carrington Soar in Top 8 Performance Episode [VIDEO]
If you weren't able to watch The Voice 2013 Season 4 Top 8 performance episode, here's a recap of last night's results.
Judith Hill started the show off right with an electric performance of "#thatPower" by Will.iam (featuring Bieber). Though Hill has an incredible voice, and is a clear favorite to advance to The Voice 2013 finals, the song choice was boring. With a boring melody, and lame lyrics, Judith Hill could've chosen a song that showcased her pipes a little better. She looked great though. Hill's obviously been taking style tips from former Voice judge Cee-Lo.
Team Blake's Holly Tucker on the other hand had the perfect song choice. Singing "Done" by The Band Perry, Tucker was "edgy" but still in her country wheelhouse. Though Tucker has arguable the best voice in The Voice 2013 Season 4, she sometimes comes off a little shy. This song pushed her to be more confident.
The Swon Brothers were in the Bottom 4 on last week's The Voice episode. Maybe on a starry night in Western Kentucky, this brother duo could do something for me. But as a mainstream radio act, it just doesn't work for me. Who knows? I could be totally wrong.
Sasha Allen stepped out on a limb covering Voice judge Usher's "Without You." The performance was pretty good but distracted by the weird choreography going on in the background. Allen has a great voice but needs to step it up in the charisma department if she wants to get any further in Season 4.
Sarah Simmons sang GOTYE's "Somebody That I Used to Know". As if we didn't get to hear this song enough in 2012, we get to hear it one more time. OK performance. That's about all I can say.
Resident Rachel Maddow on The Voice 2013, Michelle Chamuel sang Bruno Mars' "Grenande". I know she doesn't have the best voice this season. But what can I say? I have a soft spot for Tina Fey. Enough said.
Easily the most adorable contestant in Season 4 of The Voice is Danielle Bradbery. Blake Shelton has already made several comparisons to Taylor Swift and it's easy to see why. She's cute. She's blonde. She's 16-years old and has an incredible voice. Holly Tucker had the better song choice this week, but I believe Bradbery will advance to next week.
Amber Carrington of Team Adam closed the night out with the Adele Bond theme "Skyfall". Exceptional. She was pitch perfect and commanded the stage like a seasoned diva.
Tune in for tonight's The Voice 2013 Season Top 8 Elimination show at 8/7c on NBC.
