After American Idol wrapped up it's 12^th season last Thursday night [Candice Glover won] The Voice is poised to become one of the most-watched shows of 2013. After two singers [Team Shakira's Garrett Gardner and Team Usher's Vedo] were eliminated last week The Voice is now down to the Top 10.

The Voice 2013 Top 10 contestants:

Team Shakira: Sasha Allen, Kris Thomas

Team Usher: Michelle Chamuel, Josiah Hawley

Team Adam Levine: Amber Carrington, Judith Hill, Sarah Simmons

Team Blake Shelton: Danielle Bradbery, The Swon Brothers

NBC also confirmed the original four judges from the first three seasons will be returning for The Voice 2014. That means Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera will be joining Adam Levine and Blake Shelton once again in the red chairs. Shakira and Usher will be back as Voice judges for Season 16 in 2014, after the Winter Olympics. Carson Daly will stick around as the host.

The Voice is quick to lock their judges up in advance to avoid the same ratings pitfalls American Idol fell into, switching judges every year. Viewers want stability so they have time to make a connection with the judges.

Even with rival singing competition show American Idol, The Voice was still the second-highest rated prime time entertainment show so far this year. It continues to draw a strong 5.2 average rating in the 18-49 demographic [important because it determines advertising rates].
