'The Walking Dead' Season 4 Premieres Oct 2013, AMC Announces New Spin-Off Series Coming in 2015

"The Walking Dead" Season 4 premieres on AMC on October 13th and fans can hardly wait.

More interesting news was just released that "The Walking Dead" is getting a new spin-off series on AMC to come to the network in 2015.

The new series will have a completely new cast and focus on some other exciting stories that "The Walking Dead" series doesn't have time to explore.

AMC has found out that "The Walking Dead" franchise is very lucrative and they want to keep striking while the interest is high.

The new "companion series" announced by AMC does not have a premiere date set, but is expected for sometime in 2015.

Series creator Robert Kirkman will serve as an exec producer of spin-off series, alongside Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert.

"Building on the success of the most popular show on television for adults 18-49 is literally a no-brainer," said AMC prez Charlie Collier in a statement. "We look forward to working with Robert, Gale and Dave again as we develop an entirely new story and cast of characters. It's a big world and we can't wait to give fans another unforgettable view of the zombie apocalypse."

Creator Kirkman added, "After 10 years of writing the comic book series and being so close to the debut of our fourth, and in my opinion, best season of the TV series, I couldn't be more thrilled about getting the chance to create a new corner of The Walking Dead universe. The opportunity to make a show that isn't tethered by the events of the comic book, and is truly a blank page, has set my creativity racing."
