'The Walking Dead' Season 4 SPOILERS / Premiere Episode 1 Introduces New Threat to Rick and Gang / Water Supply "Infected" in the Prison [TRAILER]

The Walking Dead Season 4 premiere shows us all of the reasons why we love the zombie series from AMC.

Episode 1 SPOILERS ahead! Readers beware!

The Season 4 cast has grown quite a bit since last season's finale. Not only has Rick and the original prison gang welcomed the former citizens of Woodbury, but also a few new characters. From the beginning of Episode 1, you can see civilization is starting to bloom. They're planting a garden for sustainable crops. They have a water supply. Daryl's somewhat of a celebrity in their community for hunting animals in the forest with Rick. 

In true Walking Dead fashion, the premiere episode starts you off on a cheery, hopeful note, only to rip it away like a zombie in a shopping mall.

Leaked spoilers online also revealed the gang now faces a new threat. A threat that can't necessarily be fixed by stabbing it in the brain.

The conclusion to the Season 4 premiere set up the premise. Essentially the zombie infection can now be spread through other ways than being bit. The specifics haven't been revealed yet but we know there's "walker" bacteria in the water supply.

Has the virus gone airborne? Either way this Sunday's episode will feature a prison full of sleeping people unaware one of their own has been turned loose in their cell.
