As fans are awaiting the Season 5 premiere of AMC's 'The Walking Dead' on October 12, news about a spin-off to the series has been released. Apparently, some casting details have been disclosed about the still untitled spin-off to the popular zombie drama.

Starting with the spin-off writers, showrunner David Erickson and 'Walking Dead' creator Robert Kirkman will be in charge of the new series.

In terms of what plot fans can expect, this time around, the show will not focus on the trials and survival tribulations of a group after the outbreak. Allegedly, the show will focus on the early stages of the zombie virus contagion.

Just recently, TVLine, went ahead and posted a quick blurb about of some of the characters that will appear in the spin-off 'Walking Dead' series.

Sean Cabrera: "A Latino male in his early 40s, Sean is a good man trying to do right by everyone in his life."

Cody Cabrera: "Sean's whip-smart and rebellious teenage son. Known as the angriest kid in town."

Nancy Tompkins: "A thirtysomething single mom to two kids, Nancy looks like the girl next door, but there's an edge to her."

Nick Tompkins: "Nancy's screwed up teenage son. He's too old to stay home, too scared to flee."

Ashley Tompkins: "Nancy's mostly level-headed teenage daughter. Her ambition is in direct proportion to her older brother's failures. She loves her mom but it's time to get out of Dodge."

Andrea Chapman: "A somewhat wilted flower child, fortysomething Andrea - yep, another Andrea! - has retreated to the outskirts of the city to recover after a horrible marriage."

Any fan familiar with Andrea from 'The Walking Dead' can remember the major impact she had in the series, especially when it came to the Governor. This version of Andrea may just turn out to be similar, given the fact that her family is also no longer intact, much like the aforementioned original series version.

As it stands, there's not much more information about the upcoming spin-off series, but surely more details and even its title will eventually be announced.
