'Westworld' Teaser News: HBO Releases Two Promo Videos For 'Westworld'
HBO has released earlier this week two new promo videos for "Westworld," offering fans a first look at the network's new sci-fi series.
Based on the 1973 film by Michael Crichton, the series offers a dark odyssey about the rise of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin.
The first promo video takes the form of a featurette and offers a whole slew of new footage and brief insight from the major players of the series, both in front of and behind the camera. The second one is a brief promo video focusing on the two central characters of the series, Maeve Millay and Dolores Abernathy. The two characters will be played by Thandie Newton and Evan Rachel Wood, respectively, and are artificially generated for the theme park environment of the show. Both are not aware that they are robots.
Aside from the two videos, HBO has also unveiled a new poster for the series. It was released as part of the viral "Westworld" campaign.
Written, directed and executive produced by Michael Crichton, the series is set at the point where the near future and the reimagined past intersect and explores a realm where every human appetite can be indulged. Its cast includes Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, James Marsden, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Jimmi Simpson, Rodrigo Santoro, Shannon Woodward, Ingrid Bols Berdal, Ben Barnes, Simon Quarterman, Angela Sarafyan, Luke Hemsworth and Clifton Collins, Jr.
"Westworld" is set to premiere on Oct. 2, 9:00 P.M. on HBO.
