Wii U Bundle: Wii Sports Club Premium Bundle to Become Only Nintendo Console Offering in Japan

Wii Sports Club premium bundle will be the regular Japanese Wii U console offering moving forward.

Nintendo launched the Wii U in two formats, an 8GB white version, and a 32GB black deluxe version. The 8GB version was discontinued, and now the standard 32GB one will be phased out in favor of the Wii Sports Club bundle.

The 32GB Premium Wii U will now include Wii Sports Club (Tennis, Bowling, Golf) for 30,000 Yen, and it will be released on March 27.

VG247 reached out to Nintendo for comments on the bundle to which they replied, "This is a Japanese announcement and we don't have anything similar to announce for the UK."

Wii Sports Club is getting a free weekend of play for the Wii U beginning March 21.

The free weekend begins at 9 a.m. PDT, and will last until March 23 at 11:59 p.m. PDT. The game's available are: Wii Sports Club's Golf, Bowling and Tennis games.

Once the promotion is over, gamers will be given options to sign up for a day pass for $1.99, or unlimited access for $9.99.

This is the second time Wii U is giving Sports Club a free weekend, and gamers who downloaded it the first time can take part in the promotion again. Also, Nintendo previously made Wii Fit U available for a month in November.

Refurbished Wii U Deluxe's are now just $200 on the Nintendo America site thanks to a new promotion.

The shipped back and fixed consoles are guaranteed by Nintendo to work, and feature 32GB of hard drive along with a physical copy of Nintendo Land. However, the package does not include controllers.
