Wrecked - To Experience Christ and To Change Our World

Like many young people, Jeff Goins was on a quest to break free of the mundane and live an incredible life. He volunteered his time to help others, studied overseas, traveled on short-term mission trips and worked with notable humanitarian organizations... but he didn't realize that to fully live out his faith he needed to be "wrecked."

In his book, Wrecked: When a Broken World Slams into Your Comfortable Life (Moody Publishers) Goins, a writer and blogger, defines being "wrecked" as an experience... a time when a broken world slams into our comfortable lives and what remains is a tension between a lifetime of adventure and our daily commitments.

From the streets of Spain where Goins' convictions prompted him to spend time with a beggar, to the destitute mother whom Goins befriended that was battling cancer; to the homeless shelters in Nashville, to his friends who sold their possessions to serve the poor or love on orphans in Africa, to those who uprooted their lives to plant churches and build houses in Mexico; follow Goins as he shares his and other ordinary people's stories doing incredible things to be transformed from the inside out.

Goins explains that being wrecked can take place in our daily lives, close to home, at our work, our school or when helping others on missionary trips. Goins touches upon other elements of being wrecked including understanding commitment issues, getting attached to feeling good while helping others, learning to know when to walk away and helping others getting wrecked.
