'WWE 2K17' Release News, Review Roundup: Impeccable Graphics, Gameplay Options

This year is the third year that 2k has produced a WWE game for the current generation of consoles. The most recent of which, WWE 2K17, has its fair share of notable qualities when it comes to authenticity, sound, gameplay and options.

When it comes to graphics, it is safe to say that WWE has reached an all-time high in WWE 2K17. While most of the characters are impeccably accurate, there are also a few that aren't, such as Andre the Giant, Naomi and Dana Brooke. The realistic movements of their hair, as well as the textures of their clothing are also very detectable.

The game also succeeds in capturing the natural flow of a professional wrestling match. It is also interesting that while there are some similar obvious aspects, each match type offers a different experience.

The game makes available over 100 Superstars to choose from, excluding the ones that will be available via DLC. Just like WWE's previous release, WWE 2K17 also allows players to create Superstars from photographs or use its in-depth face and body sculpting tools to recreate anyone. It offers a good deal of hairstyle options to choose from.

Another notable feature of the game is its arena and championship belt creation options. With this feature, players can now place props almost anywhere in the arena.

As for its negative features, those who have tried the game have noticed JBL, who still sounds as if he's broadcasting via satellite from Tattoine. Moreover, the lines of Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler are already outdated.

Aside from its poor audio, another weakness of this game is its pretty long loading time, that players sometimes even have to wait for 30-40 seconds to transition from one part of the game to the next.

When it comes to its promo engine, the major problem is there are instances when one character is talking but there is no sound. Moreover, some find it ridiculous that little guys are still able to lift bigger guys with their finishing moves.

Overall, WWE 2K17 is really good except for some few issues. Considering its graphics, gameplay and options, it is definitely the best wrestling game ever released.

WWE 2K17 was released on October 11, 2016 and is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
