The Xbox One Arrives on Friday at Midnight: Will You Be Attending a Release Party?

So far this year we have one next-generation console release under our belts with the PS4, now it's time to look forward to the release of the Xbox One on Friday at midnight. The Xbox One clocks in at $100 more than the PS4, but the Xbox has Xbox Live and a Kinect 2.0. Is that enough to make gamers wait to purchase the Microsoft Console for $100 more?

The Playstation 4 sold 1 million consoles in the first 24 hours of its availability. It would not be a surprise if Xbox One showed similar numbers. Many stores are having midnight release parties for consumers who preordered the console, and some are even making sure that they have a few devices available for walk in purchase. However, don't count on just swinging by a store and grabbing one at midnight, experts are saying that the Xbox One will be in short supply if you didn't preorder it already.

A spokesperson for Microsoft assured consumers that their preordered Xbox Ones will be available for pickup at midnight tonight. The statement reads, "While we do not share specific numbers of preorders, we will be able to fulfill all official preorders and will have units available at retail in our 13 launch markets on November 22. Based on early demands projections we are already anticipating that Xbox One will be sold out this holiday."
