Xbox One VS Playstation 4: Is Star Wars Angry Birds the Most Anticipated Next-Gen Game? News on Specs, Games, and Sales Prospects [TRAILER]
Everyone is buzzing about Battlefield 4 and Forza 5, but critics speculate that Angry Birds Star Wars could sweep the competition in terms of sales when the Xbox One and PS4 arrive. The game is said to be sold only digitally at around 10-15 dollars.
With that being said, is it possible for Xbox One and PS4 to achieve their sales goals of 100 million units each within the next 10 years? Games like Angry Birds Star Wars will make a huge difference in how people play video games by making the game only available through digital download. However, will either of these consoles be radically different enough from their predecessors to force people to pay for them?
Colin Campbell from Polygon.com wrote, "The next generation of consoles faces the difficult task of reaching or even besting the current generation's achievements. By the time we call a wrap on the mid-2000s consoles of Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii, the three of them will have sold in excess of 300 million machines during their ten-year life. Is it conceivable that PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Wii U will tally than over the next ten years? Although the games console market is healthy, no-one believes that the number of people who might buy one, but who haven't, is growing, at least not in affluent countries. Consoles are a declining technology."
