Yankees, Mets ONLINE LIVE STREAM Watch HERE: Mets Win Game 1 of Subway Series / Looking to Tie Season High 3 Game Winning Streak
The New York Mets are aiming to tie a season high third straight win tonight in Game 2 of the Subway series against the New York Yankees. After a victory over NL East leaders the Atlanta Braves, and a comeback 2-1 win against the New York Yankees, the Mets are playing good baseball against two of the league's hottest teams.
Matt Harvey (5-0, 1.93 ERA) is the Mets most formidable pitchers and will get the start against the Yankees tonight at 7:10 ET. He'll look for a return to old form this evening after a blowout loss to the Cincinnati Reds Wednesday.
"We Harv going tomorrow, it provides us some momentum,'' Mets thirdbasemen David Wright told the pre-game media. "If we're going to climb our way back into the thing and start heading towards .500 we're going to have to win these close games...hopefully we can ride this momentum into tomorrow with Matt's start.''
Wright hit his seventh homerun of the season in the win against the Yankees Monday night.
For the Yankees Hiroki Kuroda is on the mound for the Yanks. Like Harvey, Kuroda (6-3, 2.67 ERA) has proven to be one of the best pitchers in the game, when he's on. Like the Mets pitcher, Kuroda had a rough start against Baltimore on Wednesday giving up a season-worst five runs along with 8 hits. Kuroda left the game in the third after suffering a blow to the calf.
